Welcome to the International Journal of Conflict and Reconciliation

The Peace Studies Program, under the auspices of the College of Arts and Science at the University of Missouri in Columbia, is pleased to establish an online journal as a forum for quality research and scholarship on alternatives to violence. The IJCR welcomes manuscripts, research notes, and book reviews from all disciplines by scholars who believe that scholarly exchange can make a difference in the search for peace with justice in today’s world. The journal provides an excellent forum for researchers around the world who are interested in developing and exchanging knowledge on the construction of an improved social, economic and political environment.

We hope you will visit the information provided on our editorial policy and submission requirements. The IJCR is particularly interested in submissions of work in progress that can be published under “Research Notes.” This is an important venue to trade or develop ideas, models and perspectives on conflict and reconciliation. The interaction between Western and Indigenous perspectives, and insights on these issues, are necessary and need to be encouraged. The editors believe that this type of activity is an important function of the contemporary research university.
